Current revision
French readers
Several categories of French “receivers” will be presented here: male and female, groups and individuals.
Up to now, French reception has been studied only – in the context of this project – in relation to particular authors: Marie-Jeanne Riccoboni, Jeanne Leprince de Beaumont and George Sand. A global impression of the current database content in French reception is given here.
Online articles will follow, which will concern:
Female readers
- Françoise de Graffigny (1695-1758)
Male readers
- Literary critics interpreting Riccoboni and Juliette Catesby's refusals;
- Bastide rewriting the platonic couple of Riccoboni's Ernestine and Clémengis;
- Critics about Graffigny;
- Novelists responding;
- L'abbé Joseph de La Porte.
