After the session the decision was taken to issue a call for papers in order to prepare a volume about this question.

This volume will be published in the newly created series "Women Writers in History". It will be entitled: "Mightier than the Spoon is the Pen": Economic Imperatives for Women's Writing before 1800, edited by Nina Geerdink and Carme Font Paz.
