The year 1890



At the end of the century women’s writing and reading was taken more seriously – in particular also by women themselves, taking place in female editorial boards of periodicals addressing female readership: consequence of, but also reaction against preceding feminism? Titles are flowery: Lelie- en Rozeknoppen and [[De Hollandsche Lelie]] (The Dutch Lily).
