Translators

For more than 300 European women we are informed about their translating activities. This is important because of research that must be undertaken about women's role as cultural transmitter: was this role different in larger than in smaller language areas? For many countries inventories should be made in order to compare. Presently most of the women translators listed here are Dutch (140) or French (79). This is of course due to the sources used up to now.

The next question would be about proportions of male and female cultural transmitters to be compared, per country and on an international scale.
