Mentions
This category concerns in particular mentions in the periodical press: in articles which are not discussing as such a specific writer or her work, women authors may be mentioned, more or less in passing. This illustrates her presence in contemporary mind or in collective memory and is, for that reason, an important signal.
Moreover mentions may occur in clusters; this will be studied later on: which authors are presented together? who is being compared to whom? who is preferred to whom?
Numbers may change: too many mentions – not had time enough to check and discuss decisions being taken
