Abstract:

In this interview, Anne-Lise Tobagi answers our questions about the play she has written about Isabelle de Charrière and its production in the village of Colombier between December 2007 and January 2008 by the company "La Colombière" : La Dame du Pontet, Isabelle de Charrière. What she says of her experience addresses the key issue of the troubled relationship between facts and fiction while inviting academics to consider the modalities through which an eighteenth-century woman writer like Isabelle de Charrière can be made relevant to the expectations of today’s general public.
