Nederlandsche Spectator
De Nederlandsche Spectator, published since 1860 in The Hague as a rival of De Gids, but in a somewhat lighter tone, has been treated here mainly for the "key years". Result is:
86 articles. 60 of them are about Dutch authors; in particular about women like Anna de Savornin Lohmann who provoked some polemics, related to the so-called "women's question".
Bibliography: Nop Maas, De Nederlandsche Spectator. Schetsen uit het letterkundig leven van de tweede helft van de negentiende eeuw. Utrecht/Antwerpen, 1986.
