De Huisvriend



The monthly De Huisvriend (Friend of the home) was published by the poet J.J.A. Goeverneur between 1843 and 1879. It did not contain review articles, but original Dutch texts or translations - often anonymously.

"Key years" have been looked at, which resulted in seven records. A poem published in 1856 shows that women readers were not really encouraged to writing and sending poems for publication...
