Belle de Zuylen / Isabelle de Charrière



This Dutch-Swiss author is more and more appreciated since the last decades. The publication of her Oeuvres complètes (Amsterdam, Van Oorschot, 1979-1984, 10 volumes) contributed importantly to this, as well as three biographies based on the author's correspondence. In particular also since 2005, bicentennial of her death, and the international conference organized by the Dutch Association (Genootschap Belle van Zuylen) about her work, Belle van Zuylen's star is rising - which is visible in manifestations and activities by:
