Algemeen Letterlievend Maandschrift
The Algemeen Letterlievend Maandschrift (General Letter Loving Monthly; published from 1816) was one of the leading literary journals before De Gids. It provided us with 166 records. 139 refer to articles, the others to information about recent translations, for example. 45 out of the 166 items are about Dutch authors; 43 about English women.
These comments will be analyzed in order - in the first place - to find out global attitudes toward this literature.
