The transnational 19th century

The transnational 19th century. Reinterpreting literary history from new perspectives of reception and transmission.

Workshop 12-13 December 2013,
University of Gothenburg

The object of the workshop was to investigate the transnational transmission and reception of literary texts: How does literature travel, disseminate and migrate and how is it renegotiated in the process. The workshop will focus on 19th-century writers in the international literary market and on new theoretical perspectives and methods from digital humanities in order to reach new understandings of the making of literary history beyond national histories and literary canons.
