Abstract books: an example



Eusèbe Girault de Saint-Fargeau, Revue des romans  : recueil d'analyses raisonnées des productions remarquables des plus célèbres romanciers français et étrangers. Paris, 1839; reprint Genève, 1968.

This book provides abstracts of novels and other works considered important in early 19th-century France. It presents for instance these works by (French and other) women. It also gives useful information about earlier translations into French.
